About

We Are Non Profit Organization

The Newham Community Project is a registered charity, (Reg No. 1128596) Established in 2008, we are a grassroots, registered charity, and an Ofsted registered educational organisation based in Newham, London. Empowering the vulnerable and the impoverished in our society through training, education and sporting activities is at the heart of what we do. We work intimately with the people in our community who are our greatest source of strength and support. We cherish multiculturalism and the diversity we are blessed with. Since our inception in 2008, we have overcome many challenges becoming extremely resilient, built relationships with many organisations and are evermore determined to pursue our goals.

HISTORY OF OUR ORGANISATION

Founded during the 2008 economic crisis, the Newham Community Project initially focused on providing food support to local residents. Recognising that food distribution alone is a temporary fix for those facing complex, multi-dimensional challenges, we broadened our services to include education, training, and advocacy. The COVID-19 pandemic significantly increased demand for our services, prompting us to take exceptional measures to expand our support capacity. This was followed by the ongoing cost-of-living crisis, which has been having an even more severe impact on our beneficiaries. As the need for our services remains critical, we are committed to continuing our support for the vulnerable in our community. Recently, we acquired a community centre, which will enhance our ability to fulfil our mission more effectively and efficiently.

Our Mission

Our Vision

At Newham Community Project, our mission is to provide comprehensive support to individuals facing poverty and destitution by offering essential resources, targeted skill development programs, and advocacy initiatives. We are dedicated to empowering people to enhance their personal and professional abilities, navigate barriers to self-sufficiency, and become active, valuable contributors to their communities. Through tailored programs and dedicated support, we aim to foster resilience, independence, and long-term success for those we serve.

Our vision is to build a world where every individual, regardless of their economic circumstances, has the opportunity to realise their full potential. We envision a society where people facing hardship are equipped with the necessary tools, skills, and advocacy support to overcome challenges and achieve self-sufficiency. By fostering an environment of empowerment and inclusivity, we aspire to create a future where all individuals are engaged, productive members of their communities, driving positive change and contributing to a more equitable and supportive world for everyone.
